The Assimil method remains one of the most efficient solution to learn a foreign language, even after 75 years
The method is based on Intuitive Assimilation to learn a foreign language. You get a course book of 60 to 150 lessons. The text of each lesson is first read by professional actors who are native speakers of the target language. Then the student simply repeats the sentences. After 20 to 30 minutes of practice, you almost always know the text by heart. Each lesson has some humorous drawings and some simple grammar rules. You repeat this step for about 6 months and you end up very quickly fluent in the foreign language. This can be viewed as the same intuitive learning method as a child learning his mother tongue. The beauty is that it requires no almost effort. Read full article in French on: La méthode Assimil - More resources: Education, emploi, formation
