Jennifer Grey’s DWTS Tango scored [...]

It seems as if the Imperial Stars can’t get anybody to listen to their music by choice, so the band decided to force commuters on the 101 Freeway in Hollywood to listen. Find out more about the publicity stunt that is earning the music group a lot of undeserved attention below.

The Imperial Stars have a song titled “Traffic Jam 101”, and clearly they thought it would be a good idea to bring the song to life. But, they were wrong! Instead of going about advertising their band in the usual ways – Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, etc – they took to the streets, well, highway to be more precise, and blocked all but one lane of traffic, according to local authorities.

The account of one witness describes the band jamming on top of what looked like a customized U-Haul truck.

The California Highway Patrol arrested the band of buffoons for the stunt, which presumably caused countless people to be late for various appointments, while inconveniencing countless others. The traffic backup extended into the San Fernando Valley, according to the LA Times Blog.

A spokesperson for the LA Police Department explained:

“3 suspects were creating some type of havoc”

The band says all of the proceeds from “Trafic Jam 101” will go to homeless children. The following is their mission statement, according to the bands official website:

“The Imperial Stars are committed to benefiting the displaced children of America through the voice of music. Charitable focused movements in addition to professional sound quality fit for all demographics; vision of mainstream success is directed back into the community voluntarily.”

The band has performed at the Viper Room and House of Blues.
